The Body is a Temple

Spirit is the foundation of life, yes. But while here on Earth, we must mind our bodies long enough to be of service and achieve Enlightenment!

Part of this has to do with self care… Massage, bathing, lotions, vitamins, getting enough rest, etc.

Part of it has to do with weight. Far to many people fall into the unfortunate trap of being overweight, which leads to health problems down the line.

If you’re in that group, then don’t worry! A little information goes a long way. Read ahead to find out why you might be suffering from this physical unbalance. Getting your health right will do worlds of good for your spiritual life as well.

Three reasons people get fat

  1. Check your parents

No need to look far far away, just check your aunt, uncle, brother, sister and yes, your parents!! You don’t have to scold them but just embrace the genes you have inherited. No doubts that all of people are made basically on their genetic structure. These are the reason why some people are small, tall, skinny or fat. Say for example the height is obtained by number or even a combination of genes inherited from your parents. Eating habits as well is very much a factor, most f us usually grew up with a habit of eating, when you’re used to eating a whole bunch of food when your parents do that when you were younger and used to eating together, you get to take the same. These fattening habits usually starts a young age and within your home. You or anybody could be thought how to avoid fatty foods and get used to it growing up, so that you can’t avoid it. Another case would be this slim lady I know, she grew up from a family of over eaters, but as she grow older and she moved out of the house she learned new habits and took exercise and went to the gym, boom. She is totally a fit. You wouldn’t even imagine her previous look. She told me she didn’t want to be stuck and its time to move up.

2. Diet

The amount of food that you take inside your mouth is the very factor of getting fat. The amount of food you eat should be balanced with the amount of energy you take out. Sometimes it doesn’t matter when you are genetically fat or something like that but what counts is that you control how much amount of food you take. Less eating and exercising more will cause weight loss. Eating fattening foods will of course gives you extra weight. Always be cautious with your diet and everything will follow.

3. Do you exercise?

NO exercise or even lack of this will definitely cause obesity. Some people are too lazy to do this and so the list goes on and on with obesity list. You can join groups like running, biking and yoga. Nowadays, everything is accessible and you can always choose. Televisions can be blamed because they are making people more and more lazy. They convince people that it’s better to  just slack off and just lounge in your own couch.

Actually we have a numerous list that can contribute to being fat and we just have to be aware of all these information. Being fat is not being ugly but living a healthy lifestyle with an adequate knowledge of what you are eating and the amount of exercise that requires you is the key to living life the right way. A lot of sickness occurs when you are overweight aside from low self esteem and insecurities. I suggest all of us keep in mind the knowledge of living healthy and loving our life more.

Siddhartha Gautama is the founder of Buddhism, he was born into a royalty in India. He is a wealthy man and is really rich. He has a little exposure to the outside world for his parents believe this will protect him from the influence of religion and pain. As much as his parents protect him and take him away from penetrating religion, something occured and his shelter was reached and then he had visions, his visions of an aged man, a corpse and a sick man. The fourth vision he had was an ascetic monk. This monk is the one who doesn’t need his wealth but lived peacefully. Seeing this last vision of a monk, he decided to become an ascetic himself. He became a leader most specially to his peers. He lived based on his beliefs and came up to eating one bowl of rice, eaten under a tree or now called the Bodhi Tree. He used to meditate there until he will reach the enlightenment and agreed to die if he can’t. Despite all the temptations of eating and all other elements, he achieved enlightenment. With that he became know as the enlightened one or the “Buddha.” He used all his learnings and realizations and began to spread and later teach fellow monks. He really did a great influence, to the point that five of his peers are appointed as his first disciples.

What had Gautama discovered? Enlightenment lay in the “middle way,” not in luxurious indulgence or self-mortification. Moreover, he discovered what would become known as the ‘Four Noble Truths’—1) to live is to suffer (Dukha), 2) suffering is caused by desire (Tanha, or “attachment”), 3) one can eliminate suffering by eliminating all attachments, and 4) this is achieved by following the noble eightfold path. The “eightfold path” consists of having a right 1) view, 2) intention, 3) speech, 4) action, 5) livelihood (being a monk), 6) effort (properly direct energies), 7) mindfulness (meditation), and 8) concentration (focus). The Buddha’s teachings were collected into the Tripitaka or “three baskets.”
His beliefs hold that sin is an impersonal and fixable error, it never agrees with the belief of depravity, a basic belief of Christianity, for Buddhism believes that there is only ethical living and meditative and appeals to be exalted in achieving the eternal purpose in achieving the enlightenment. His true followers, Buddhism, is the religion who has philosophy of morality and ethics, they believe in reincarnation and so if you do something not right you will keep on reincarnating until you do things right.

What is “Atheism”?

Atheism is, in an comprehensive sensation, the denial of understanding in the use of deities. In a compact sized definition, atheism is particularly where that there are no deities. Most inclusively, atheism is the lack of understanding that any deities are available. Atheism is in contrast to theism, which, in its most typical kind, is the supposition that at least one deity exists.

The term “atheism” began from the Greek history where its Greek word is ἄθεος (atheos), basically “without god(s)”. It is used as a derogatory term used by a usual majority of people for those who refused to worship gods. With the spread of free thought, rhetorical questions, and following the review of trust, use of the term begun to be more acceptable rather than held in contempt. The first individuals to identify themselves using the term “atheist” lived in the 18th century during the Age of Enlightenment. The Italy Pattern, famous for its “unprecedented atheism,” drove their government to explain the supremacy of gods or goddesses in logical and natural reasoning.

Arguments for atheism add philosophy to community and conventional methods. Rationales for being unsure of in deities include of explanations that there is a lack of medical evidence; the problem of evil; the conversation from untrustworthy revelations; the denial of concepts that cannot be falsified; and the conversation from nonbelief. Although some atheists now implement high-end concepts (eg. humanism and skepticism), there is not one perception or set of activities to which all atheists adjust. Many atheists acknowledge that atheism is a more frugal worldview than theism and therefore that the stress of proof are available not on the atheist to disprove the existence of God but on the theist to provide a proof for theism.
